Twitter application Tweetboard Alpha – first words

tweetboard_logoHave you wondered what if you can use Twitter straight from your blog? Better yet, what if your Twitter followers could reply you a specific conversation in a specific format? Well, if  you ever felt the need to reply to your followers straight from your website, Tweetboard is here.

What is Tweetboard?

Tweetboard is a fun and engaging micro-forum type application for your website. It pulls your Twitter stream in near real-time (max 1 min delay), reformatting tweets into threaded conversations with unlimited nesting. Conversations that spun off the original conversation are also threaded in-line, giving your site visitors full perspective of what’s being discussed.”

That means that you put a script into your blog or any other kind of bwebsite and then a sticky red (for new tweets) or green (no tweets) tab shows up on your website. It starts by showing the visitor how many tweets your Twitter account sent since a visitor’s last time visit.

tweetboard_badge_thumbTweetboard is a handy Twitter tool  for site owners (especially for bloggers) who create content on a daily basis. Why? Beucause it gives them the ability to tweet to their Twitter followers on a specific content, on a specific article they wrote and manage the maintain the conversation in a specifc format. Tweetboard allows site owners to see their Twitter replies for a certain tweet they gave through a very inuitive Twitter interface that Tweetboard script generates.

Even though I’m a humble new Twitter user and have only a hand of followers, last night I spent 4-5 hours in front of my computer, just tweeting and replying to people on specific tweets. Twitter application Tweetboard  is so engaging. It just emphasizes Twitter’s online existence and purpose.

Tweetboard is currently in alpha stage (they’re still giving invitations at this moment)  so they’re still fixing some bugs. For example, the script you must insert into your website generates the Tweetboard tab and everything goes just fine in Mozilla Firefox and Safari but in Internet Explorer (I used IE 6 for the test) Tweetboard just won’t load and it gest in your design’s way. If you get to see some glitches, you can use the support page and let the guys know.

I would love to hear your opinion on Tweetboard and how do you think it will affect your website.
